Dave’s Spartan Helmet Tattoo

Posted by on Friday, 17 September, 2010

There are all kinds of mythical tattoos that one can get. Many people decide to get pieces of medieval weapons, armors, shields, and even helmets tattooed onto themselves. A local tattoo parlor recently tattooed my brother Dave with a Spartan helmet tattoo. Our ancestors lived in Sparta and we have always been fascinated with the battle stories of the Spartans.

Dave has been a huge fan of the spartan movies and has seen the movie “300” almost that many times. The helmet is most easily recognized as a Spartan warrior’s head gear so we figured it would be the best thing to tattoo on him. Eventually he’ll get a Spartan shield on his left arm and a Spartan spear on his right arm. He might even tattoo the words “Spartan Soldier” on his stomach. The tattoo will loop up and then back down in a wide arc so that it looks more dramatic.

When we first brought Dave to our local tattoo parlor and asked the tattoo artist to place a Spartan helmet on his chest he said he couldn’t do it. The artist said he would like to try, but he did not really have a good idea of what a Spartan helmet looked like. Dave and I said that we would try to get him a picture of the helmet and come back. We found a great looking Spartan replica helmet at a web site called armor venue and decided to just go ahead and buy it. The helmet was absolutely beautiful and ended up costing us less than one hundred dollars. After using our Discover card to pay for it, we only had to wait a short time before receiving it.

After receiving the Spartan helmet we loaded it up in the car with us and drove back down to the tattoo artist. We showed the artist the helmet and he became really excited about the job. Within a few minutes he had already sketched us out a great looking tattoo template. After thinking it over Dave asked for a temporary helmet tattoo to be placed onto him so that he could decide if it looked good on his chest. We figured we’d look at it for about a six or seven days and if it still looked good we’d come back and get the real thing placed on him.

As you may have guessed, Dave decided to get the helmet tattoo. The spartan helmet tattoo is now permanently placed on his left pectoral muscle. He has received many compliments on the tattoo, even one from our mother. She was against him getting a tattoo so this was really surprising for us.

Famous People Like Tom Brokaw Consulted With Atlanta Translation Agencies Before Getting Inked

Posted by on Sunday, 27 June, 2010

Many people find tattoos a genuine means for expressing themselves, to notch a crucial moment in their lives or to show their love or engagement to an idea or a belief, by etching a name, a symbol or a quote into their skin for ever.. It seems to get an Asian tattoo on your body is getting the order of the day – from pop stars to top sports stars, from movie stars to politicians, everybody gets tattooed. However, there is a huge problem – many people (like Nkki Sixx), not taking into consideration that they had better used qualified Chinese or Japanese Translator before getting a tattoo are ending up with incorrect or meaningless characters that some tattoo artist simply made up.Before getting a Japanese or a Chinese symbol tattooed, you have to take into consideration several things, the precise translation of the selected words, for example. In addition, you could buy a book dedicated to the meaning of Chinese kanji, or to search the Internet for information about the exact way the respective Chinese symbol looks..
The best you can do is to check with several reliable resources so that you can be sure that your tattoo will express exactly what you want.As a matter of fact, Japan had no writing until 5th century and simply borrowed Chinese characters by meaning.

It was almost the same in Korea – if you consult a Korean Translation agency you will be told that the meaning of the Korean word Hanja is “Chinese Characters” and these are still used in South Korea. So far so good but where the confusion sets in is that once in Japanese, the Chinese symbol – now called kanji – is used to mean something different to what it meant in Chinese. Most kanjis have the same meaning in Chinese and Japanese, however, some of the assimilated Chinese characters have acquired another meaning in Japanese culture and you may not like their meaning in Chinese.

For instance, if you want to tattoo the Japanese kanji for “samurai” on your shoulder, you have to keep in mind that in Chinese this character means “waiter” or “servant”.When it comes to Arabic translations, however, this task may prove to be a bit difficult; due to their religious beliefs, some Arabs will not even partake in the translation if they know it will be used as a tattoo.
However, this does not prevent Arabs and non-Arabs alike from getting Arabic tattoos and you can always find qualified Arabic Translator, although having anything on your body which God did not create–tattoos, piercing, even plastic surgery procedures is against Islamic law. To have your body inked can be a very thrilling experience which you will remember for long. Chinese or Arabic symbol tattoos are believed to symbolize the personality, the beliefs and the inner world of their owner. That’s why if you want to choose a tattoo that will show the world what your true self is, it is very significant to select the authentic characters that exactly match the meanings you want to express through it.

Articulate Your Personality with the Correct Japanese Body Art Translator

Many people feel that tattoos are a creative way to express their personality, remember a key moment in their lives or use it as a way to demonstrate their love or commitment by having a name of a loved one or a poignant proverb permanently etched into their skin. To make a Japanese or Chinese character tattoo seems to get more popular every day: everyone is inked with Asian tattoos – pop singers, sports stars, movie stars. However, there is a potential problem and if you do not want to have your body scarred with wrong or meaningless characters, as a lot of people, including Tom Brokaw did, you’d better find a Chinese or Japanese Translation agency or a qualified translator before contacting the tattoo studio. Before having a Japanese or a Chinese symbol tattoo, you should take care to find the accurate translation of the selected words. Apart from this, you could try to find a book on Chinese symbols or to browse the Internet for information about the meaning and the exact image of the respective kanji..
It is very important that you check with several reputable sources to be sure that they all confirm the correct meaning and authenticity of the character you wish to get tattooed. As a matter of fact, Japan had no writing until 5th century and simply borrowed Chinese characters by meaning.

The introduction of the Chinese characters into Korean culture was quite a similar one – even, as you will be told in any Korean Translation agency, the meaning of the Korean word Hanja is “Chinese characters’ and they are still used in South Korea.Of course, it would not be a problem, if some of the Chinese symbols, now known as kanji, had not altered their meaning after their introduction into the Japanese language. For example, after their introduction into Japanese culture some of the Chinese characters have acquired a more or less different meaning, so if you decide to tattoo a Japanese character, you may not like its meaning in Chinese.

As an example, if you want to have a tattoo saying ‘samurai’ in Japanese on your shoulder, have in mind, that the Japanese kanji is read “waiter’ or “servant” in the Chinese language. If you want an Arabic tattoo you may encounter difficulty in finding someone to translate it, because due to religious reasons, many Arabs will refuse to do the translation if they know it will be tattooed.
However, this does not prevent Arabs and non-Arabs alike from getting Arabic tattoos and you can always find qualified Arabic Translation, although having anything on your body which God did not create–tattoos, piercing, even plastic surgery procedures is against Islamic law. The decision to have a tattoo is a serious one, because you will probably have it till the rest of your life. Many people who have Chinese or Arabic symbol tattoos feel that they are very much symbolic representations of their inner feelings and personality. That’s why if you want to choose a tattoo that will show the world what your true self is, it is very significant to select the authentic characters that exactly match the meanings you want to express through it.
