This thing didn’t work too well when I first got it. It would flicker a lot and didn’t seem like it got enough power. So I rewired it so the wire connected to the silver mount would be connected to the contact screw instead. I found that it gets direct power there instead of through the springs. And the clip wire stayed in the same spot.. If your having problems with this then I would suggest rewiring it to do the trick. (You’ll have to add some wire to extend the short little amount that sticks out of the tube). It really works out good when your hurtin for light during your tattoo. Anyways, I hope this helped.
